National Oklahoma City Douglass High School Alumni Association

P.O. Box 1891, Oklahoma City, OK 73101-1891

Dear Fellow Trojans,

The National Oklahoma City Douglass High School Alumni Association is proud to announce the establishment of the Douglass High School (DHS) Wall of Fame to be housed in the main hall of Douglass.

The “Wall” will highlight outstanding alumni from the inception of DHS, the oldest high school in the State of Oklahoma since 1891. Names of alumni selected will be placed on a plaque that shows their profession/field/sport/and year of graduation.

Each class President will be encouraged to submit two (2) names from their class to the Selection Committee. Nomination forms will be provided. Nomination does not guarantee selection. However, each nomination will be considered. If said nominee is not selected this year, they could be considered for subsequent years.

Other nominations for “The Wall”, not submitted by Class Presidents, will be considered, but must be accompanied by a $25.00 fee. All proceeds will go towards “The Wall”. The estimated cost will be $10,000.00. We are asking each class to donate $250.00. However, this amount is not required for the nominations to be considered.

The deadline for nominations will be 5:00 pm CST on Thursday, February 1, 2018, Frederick Douglass’ birthday. Selections will be announced June 1, 2018.

The induction banquet for those selected will be on Friday, September 7, 2018, before the Soul Bowl (Saturday, September 8, 2018) at Douglass High School.

Douglassites, let’s make this happen! The contributions and accomplishments of Trojans will live to infinity. “The Wall” will serve to inspire and encourage current and future Trojans.
