Nationally renowned sculptor and painter Melvin Smith, Class of 1959, from St. Paul, Minnesota was at Douglass High School for a special dedication of three paintings that he donated to the school. The unveiling of 3 works done by Smith reflects his experiences growing up in Oklahoma City. One painting, “Douglass High School” is his impression of the school formerly located at northeast 5th and High Streets here in Oklahoma City.
